THIS VR GETAWAY HAS BEEN VERY INSPRING TO ME. MADAME MARIE CURIE funded much of this mine and lived here for a time. She WAS A WOMAN BEYOND HER TIME PERIOD. NOT ONLY IS IT AMAZING THAT SHE WAS A CHEMIST IN THE 1801, BUT SHE THE FIRST AND ONLY WOMAN TO WIN THE NOBEL PRIZE TWICE IN 2 SCIENTIFIC FIELDS. She discovered radiation as a treatment of Cancer, and developed mobile Radiograph units to provide X-Ray Services to field hospitals. Sadly At the time they believed Radium was "Natures Wonder Element" and did not realize that their exposure to such high levels of Radiation was deadly. After Madame Curie and so many mine workers Died of Radiation posioning the mine was closed and sealed shut.

TINY ROCK HOUSES

Since Wood was so scarce, houses around the mine used Rocks to build their houses.  They are barely big enough for a bed.

Grab a VR Headset, and come join me exploring these tiny houses and other mine remants. Just search "ShaunasAdventures" on OculusTV or YouTubeVR.
